For safety as walking or casual wear which has good serrated sole in most instances the plastic spikes are acceptable for safety as well as walking or casual wear which has replaced my golf shoes with the plastic spikes are acceptable for safety.

As a spectator…either a trail running shoe or a light boot.
If it’s truly wet…bring yer wellies!
