Footjoy golf shoes?

I’m thinking of getting a pair of the Footjoy contours. I went into a local golf galaxy and tried on both the medium sole, and wide sole. The wide sole was a better fit, but I’ve heard that they stretch out a bunch. Heres the deal, my foot is a bit wider than the usual, and I’m planning on walking the course more than riding so I really need something comfy. My fit in the medium was tight, but not uncomfortable, although I wasn’t walking on it for four miles. Should I go with the medium, or should I go with the wide. Basically, how much do these shoes strectch out…. Thanks golf community, and please feel my sorrow. I just got a snow storm tonight in Minneapolis, and there was one golf course that opened yesterday that was completely booked. My tee time was for today

I faced the same issue. I play enough to go through a pair of shoes every other year. Having come across a shoe sale at one of the local stores I was tempted to buy a pair of Footjoy Dryjoys that fit just a little tighter than the wide shoes I normally wear. I went ahead and bought the shoes thinking that they would stretch over the space of a few rounds. By the third round I was dying. My feet hurt so bad that I was honestly thinking of tossing the shoes in my bag and playing the rest of the round barefoot. The shoes didn’t stretch at all.
Thankfully, the store had a 30 money back policy and I was able to swap the tighter shoes for a pair that is slightly wider.
I think that during 4 or 5 hours of walking everyone’s feet swell to a certain degree. This makes me believe that wider shoes are preferred. Of course, you can go too far with this argument to where you are slipping inside your shoes if they;re too big. But erroring on the wide-size is a safe and probably smart bet.
Incidentally, I’ve found that if I wear thicker socks it helps keep my feet less stressed/fatigued. This is another reason I now buy wider (vs. more snug) shoes.
Hope this helps,
Dale

Go with what feels best , not what you hope will happen. Also, avoid the shoes with the hidden “cushion plug” under the heal. You have to lift the insole to see it. These things will KILL your feet, and BLISTER you heals.
