Golf Gift asked:

Golf bags are essential for carrying around all the things you need as you play golf. These would be your golf clubs, golf balls, tees, markers, towels and umbrellas.

Although they do not directly affect the result of your game, they could influence your attitude as you play, as golf bags offer you a lot of comfort and convenience as you go through the course.

Here are some types of golf bags.

1. Staff bags

Staff bags would be the largest kind of golf bags. A good staff bag would be made of leather or other durable and high quality materials and are usually a bit more expensive. They are able to contain all of your golf clubs, and still have a lot of pockets to hold other things and equipment that you wish to bring along as you go through the course.

Most professional golfers prefer to use the staff bag as they are able to hold the most equipment. They need not worry about lugging it around since they usually have their caddy to help them out with that.

2. Cart Bags

These bags are relatively smaller than staff bags but are bulkier and harder to carry around. Cart bags are designed to be transported in golf carts but have less pockets and less room for storage.

3. Carry Bags

These are the smallest of the golf bags, which are usually made from nylon, plastic or other light materials. They are constructed to contain the essentials like golf clubs, a couple of balls and small golf accessories. They are perfect for those golfers who prefer to carry their own bags.

When choosing the most suitable golf bag for you, you would need to consider the features that you need and your budget. It is not necessary to buy the most expensive bag available, as they do not directly affect the way you play, unlike your clubs, balls and golf shoes. You should carefully assess if the bag you are planning to buy has all the features that will suit your needs, while still being reasonably priced.

It is a scrammble, so nothing serious. Would you wear flip flops or sandals on the course?

Clint Jhonson asked:

Golf is quite a popular sport in many countries and golf players seem to enjoy this sport very much and to do their best to excel when practising it. Nonetheless, a good golf player needs the best equipment, since it is known that this is the sport where the equipment you use can make a difference. If you like playing golf and being better than your opponents, we suggest making sure that you have adequate equipment.

Fortunately, nowadays there are many companies which put at your disposal a wide range of golf equipment and it is up to you to choose the one you like best according to your preferences and budget. As probably most of you know, golf equipment includes a set of golf clubs, golf balls, a quality golf bag, adequate shoes, proper clothing and, of course, golf gloves. Let’s begin with golf clubs, which represent one of the most important parts of the equipment. It is a fact that clubs have evolved a lot these last years when it comes to the qualitative aspect, so if you play golf with old clubs, it is probably a good idea to change them with some new ones.

If you have decided to listen to our advice and move on to new golf clubs, you should take into consideration the ones made of wood. Many golfers love playing with wood clubs due to the fact that wood is easier and it provides a better accuracy to the beginner. However, you must be prepared to pay around $ 500 for these sorts of clubs, because they are not cheap items. Furthermore, most top golf clubs have heads that are made almost entirely from titanium. Titanium is known to be stronger than steel and weighing a lot less, being ideal for golf equipment. However, titanium is very expensive because of the technology used in order to break it down. Titanium clubs are used by professional players all over the world.

A golfer also needs quality golf bags and there are several sizes for him to choose from. Most professionals use giant leather tour bags, which are waterproof and equipped with large pockets even if these bags are very heavy and hard to carry. A golf player will also need cart bags, which are usually made of leather and nylon. These cart bags are recommended if you are planning to drive the cart all day long.

The great thing about golf is that manufacturers are aware of the demands of golf players and they want to help them maximize their game by means of the golf equipment. Many manufacturers seem to produce golf clubs and equipment which takes into consideration all of your needs. Another important piece of equipment is the golf shoes; when choosing your shoes, comfort should be the most important aspect. The last thing you need is having blisters when you play golf. Furthermore, make sure that your golf shoes offer good grip and solid support, since these are essential for a great golf swing.

Selecting the right golf equipment can be an overwhelming task, especially if you are new in this sport. A beginner golfer is advised to resort to a professional sales person, who can help him select the adequate equipment according to his demands. As for the veterans of this sport, all we can say is enjoy your shopping.

Alan Richardson asked:

Golf is a sport that comes with an almost insane amount of accessories. Everything from the golf clubs to the golf cart is covered, and you will have countless options for personalizing everything. The accessories range from completely useless to very clever and valuable. So you will have to decide whether you want to spend your money on a gimmicky little item or whether you want something that will really come in handy out on the golf course. Here I will name some of the things that no golfers should go without. If you are feeling the urge to buy golf accessories, you should start with these before moving on to anything else.

The right apparel can make a golf game much easier on you both physically and mentally. Golf shoes are meant to be very comfortable when walking across large stretches of grass. These are much better to wear while golfing than just your regular dress shoes (unless you enjoy having blisters for the next few weeks). Sunglasses are another very important part of any golfer’s outfit. They will allow you to see the course better, as well as protect your eyes from the harmful rays put out by the sun. Other apparel is useful, but not quite as necessary. For example, golf shirts, pants, and hats are widely available but they aren’t too much different than what you might normally wear.

Another good accessory to have is something to help you carry all of your smaller items along with your golf clubs. Usually this will be integrated directly into a golf club bag, but otherwise you will definitely need something to take its place. These smaller items include extra golf balls and tees mostly, along with any other things that you find yourself frequently using during a golf game. There are many functional ways that you can carry these things, but usually a simple pouch will do. You can shove it into your golf club bag, or just leave it under the seat in the golf cart until you need it.

Finally, you will most likely want to accessorize your golf clubs to some extent. You will certainly want to give them a good home inside of a deluxe golf club bag, but you may want to make modifications on the actual clubs themselves. You can replace the grips at the tops of the clubs with something that is more suited towards your style, or simply to something that give you a better grip on the club as it was meant to do. You can avoid having it slip out of your hands, since this is quite an embarrassing turn of events if it happens to you.

All of these accessories can be easily bought at your local golf club store, but you may not have much of a selection when visiting these stores. It is a good idea to look on the internet for what you want, and see what the internet has to offer. There are many web sites selling golf accessories, and throughout them you are sure to find accessories that meet the very specific details that you have in mind. Just keep your search going until you find something that you are satisfied with, and you will be glad that you persevered in the matter.

Charlie D asked:

I was looking at my golf shoes the other night and noticed that a lot of the spikes towards the toes of my shoes were broken off. I have the Softspikes Pulsar Fast twist spikes currently in my shoes. If the front spikes break, should I replace all the spikes or just rotate the ones from the back to the front and continue that process? How often are new spikes recommended?
