I’ve tried on about 15 different styles and don’t find any of them very comfortable. The most comfortable pair has synthetic uppers which concerns me - I prefer leather for its flexibility and comfort, and I would imagine the synthetic shoes get hotter as well. I’ve tried all the style I can find in Cape Town - the range is v. limited. There seem to be some great shoes online but of course you can’t try on. Pls help.

Nothing to expensive but something I could use maybe once a month. I know sometimes you get what you pay for so I don’t want to be too cheap. Thanks.

I am a male, size 11.5. I did a search in yahoo for discounted golf shoes but I was curious to know if anyone knew any other sites than the typical ones. I also already checked ebay, golf galaxy, golfsmith, etc. Or maybe someone knew where I could get good coupons for sites out there?

Do you wanna be a great golfer? All you need to have is good golf skill and a sturdy pair of golf shoes. A nice pair of this footwear is all fine and dandy for a great swing. Swing is the heart of this game and to achieve a perfect swing you need a right pair of golf shoes. Many of us are unaware about the actual importance of this footwear. So, this article will guide you to know the significance and role of golf shoes.

Avoids Moisture

Most part of the golf game depends on your shoes, so be conscious while shopping them. It is wise to prefer this footwear designed with breathable material because you will be standing on your foot for maximum 3-4 hours on the field and you need to walk a lot which may cause sweating. And your sweating feet may lead to have a very tough time in handling the swing. Shoes designed with breathable materials will wick away the moisture from your feet and keep them stay dry and comfy inside the footwear.

Maintains Appropriate Body posture

While taking a swing the whole body pressure shifts on the right foot and after the back swing occurs, the pressure transfers to the left foot. Here your body needs to be balanced well without any slippage, and golf shoes are the only equipment that balances your whole body weight.

Relieves Stress

This footwear is manufactured with rubber/plastic spikes that are fixed to the bottom of the shoe to get a good grip over the ground without letting you to slide. They are engineered so well with new technologies that it relieves the stress giving ailment to the pressure points of your foot like ball of the foot, toes and heel area and gains you an outstanding performance.

Causes Less Harm to the Greens

In some golf clubs you can find that the trainees are not permitted to enter inside without golf shoes. It’s because ordinary footwear will tear and damage the greens that are taken utmost care especially for playing this game. But golf shoes won’t do much harm to the greens as they are provided with soft spikes. These soft spikes easily grip the grass and mud causing less damage to it.

Gains You A Great performance

Golf is a game, in which you have to walk more from a tee to another tee or to where the ball is landed, so it’s wise and comfortable enough to pair your feet with soft spiked golf shoes. This footwear is even available with hard spikes that will exhibit excellent traction over the field but are less comfortable while taking your swing. So many prefer soft spiked shoes that gain you mind blowing performance in the game. This footwear mold according to your convenience and body posture and in turn give you a good golf swing. So go shopping for an excellent and sturdy pair of this footwear to show your excellence in the game.

Golf travel bags make excellent gifts for anyone who enjoys golfing. They allow you to transport your golf clubs safely and without you having to worry about damaging them. They also come in a variety of styles, shapes and colors. So how do you know which one you need? It really depends on who the golf travel bag is for.

Like I said before, golf travel bags come in a variety of styles, shapes and colors. However, the look of the bag is not the only thing you should consider when buying one - especially for a gift. Perhaps one of the most important things to consider is what kind of distances will the person travel that you are purchasing the gift for.

If they travel fairly substantial distances with their golf clubs, then you will definitely want to get something sturdy and strong. In this case, I would suggest buying a hard sided golf travel bag which is also known as a golf travel case. This is particularly true if the person travels on airplanes on a regular basis. An advantage of using golf travel cases while flying is airlines will often pickup the cost of replacing any damaged golf clubs if your golf clubs were in one of these protective cases during the flight.

Another advantage is of course the peace-of-mind knowing that your golf clubs should be well protected from any damage during the trip. If you are confident that the person you are buying this gift for does not frequently travel long distances with their golf clubs, then you should be able to get by with purchasing a soft sided golf travel bag. In fact, I would strongly suggest going this route in this case.

An advantage of using a soft sided golf travel bag is that the bags themselves typically include several pockets for you to put gloves, shoes, etc. into. They are also less bulky and can fit easier into the trunk of a car. Soft sided golf travel bags also typically come with wheels that make it easier to transport the clubs from place to place.

Again, knowing what features the golf travel bag would need would depend on who the bag is for. If they use golfing shoes, then they would probably appreciate the fact there is a place to put them in the bag.

In addition to the sturdiness of the golf travel bag, cost is obviously going to be a factor that you will want to consider. Not surprisingly, golf travel cases are typically more expensive than soft sided golf travel bags. However, the difference in cost is not massive and there are some golf travel bags that are more expensive than the cases.

Most golf travel cases will cost you around $150 while the average golf travel bag will cost around $75. However, some golf travel bags can cost you well over $200. Of course the differences in prices are often a reflection of the differences in name brand, quality and features.

Probably no real answers… just seeing what you guys think. I can find a pair of great looking retro New Balances or a reasonably priced pair of Adidas to wear everyday but when it comes to golf shoes I’m stuck with saddles until I hit the $85+ range. I’d rather spend the extra money on green fees but I still want to look good, head to toe.

Katharine Northfield asked:

There is a specific term to describe this hand-sized detachable leather flap that attaches on top of golf shoes with same laces that close the shoe. The original purpose of flap was probably to protect shoes at lace opening. Now, it’s used more as a classic touch on saddle shoes, whether for golf or street “school girl” shoes. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT FLAP IS CALLED???
